Sustainability is important for technology at Germain Street School in order to keep the hardware and programs in good conditions for continued use.

Maintenance
• All new computers purchased by Germain will have a 3-year onsite warranty.
• LAUSD has technical support for schools
• Germain will have knowledgeable persons on staff to troubleshoot any potential problems.
• Donations of money and time will be requested from companies in surrounding areas as a donation to the school.

Upgrading
• Donations and school funds will be used as needed to purchase and/or upgrade software.
• Parents and companies will also donate software as it becomes available.
• As new technology emerges, Germain Street School will seek to upgrade through school funds, donation and grants.

Insurance

• LAUSD has insurance for school technology for fire and other disasters.
• A percentage of the school budget as well as donations will be used to carry additional insurance for technology. (theft, vandalism, etc.)
